100 Layer Cake Feature: Winter Wedding Inspiration at the New York Public Library

I'm both excited and ashamed to say my first trip to the New York Public Library was for this beautiful inspiration shoot orchestrated by H&H Weddings. 20% ashamed because I can't believe I hadn't been there before. And 80% excited because we got there before sunrise and had the place all to ourselves! To be in such a grand part of the history of this city, such a well known institution, in the eerie, empty quiet of the morning was just magical.

It's important when you have two beautiful brides to really let their individuality shine in their overall look. So I kept one bride's look very soft and inspired by her own youthful, natural beauty, just focusing on her already glowing skin and bringing extra attention to her stunning doe eyes.

And I kept the other look much more playful and inspired by the wintery berry tones that run throughout the decor and florals. 100 Layer Cake called it a "timeless winter beauty look!"

Grey Likes Weddings Feature: Judith & Paul's Southampton Wedding

As the 2014 wedding season winds down, and I approach my three year New York City-iversary, imagine my delight to see one of my first east coast client's wedding in my blog reader recently! I had the pleasure of doing makeup for Judith a couple times, as they had an intimate ceremony in the city, and then an all out effortlessly elegant party in Southampton to include family from near and far (Texas & England, to be exact!). We went for a fresh & romantic look for the "english garden" setting, with soft eye makeup and a fresh peachy lip. She is simply stunning! Style Me Pretty Feature: Youyou and Rahul's Wedding

As I scrolled through my blog feed this morning, I was delighted to see Youyou and Rahul's gorgeous wedding up on Style Me Pretty. When I met Youyou for her trial, she told me all about their Lord of The Rings meets Midsummer Night's Dream inspiration. And that there would be an instrumental version of "Sweet Child of Mine" in there somewhere. WHAT?! Clearly we were meant to me. Okay, actually her and Rahul were meant to be. But obviously I was so excited to get to do her makeup on such an awesome day. We chose to create an ethereal, glowing look that was both natural but romantic with touches of lavender and slate grey on her eyes. Head to Style Me Pretty to see more of their big day
